Who Knew Zebra Striped Nails Could Be So Cute and Easy to Do Yourself?

It is unfortunate that more women do not get more creative with their acrylic nails and long natural nails.

If you live in a city, you will often find that long nails can get a bad reputation. Many women in the city wear their nails in tacky, gaudy styles and may or may not maintain the cleanliness under the nail, or the polish job on top of the nail. Unfortunately, though, this bad reputation is what has deterred many stylish women when it comes to wearing acrylic nails and long natural nails. Another thing that discourages many women is price. Fancy nail jobs can get expensive fast, if you go to a good salon.

I just recently came across a good article describing how you can create a zebra striped design on your own long acrylic/natural nails.

Now your first thought might be that zebra stripes on nails are a little bold, and might not be your style. However, it really is all in the clothes that you wear, and the way that you wear your hair and makeup when you wear your zebra striped nails. If you dress in elegant, attractive clothing, you will find that zebra striped nails will give your outfit a special kick that no other woman in the room will have.

All you need to create the look is a detail brush, a protective clear topcoat, white nail polish and black nail polish. Two important things to remember are, one, that you should let each coat dry for at least 20 minutes before applying the next coat and going about your day. This is vital, and so many people mess up all of their hard work by being hasty.

Two, you do not need to make your zebra stripes on nails perfectly straight. You can use any piece of paper as your guide and have a professional look for your nails in no time.

How to Get the Curvy, Toned Shape You're Dreaming About

Being an African American female, I have always been surrounded by a culture that appreciated a woman's curves. But for a long time, most of society did not.

The Sir Mix Alot song, "Baby Got Back," pretty much summed up the way other cultures looked at curves when I was growing up. But things are changing so much. Nowadays, even supermodels are focusing on having shapely rear ends.

It is amazing to me sometimes when I realize that bone thin is not in style anymore, and that healthy shape has become more interesting and attractive. But this shapely ideal has created a whole different level of insecurity in slender women, and women without a defined rear end shape. There is something you can do about this though.

There is a product called the Brazil Butt Lift. It's actually a really awesome exercise program that will give you the shape of your dreams.

When you see those gorgeous Victoria's Secret models with those perfect bottoms, you can finally get those same results. Their trainer is the one who designed the program. Here is more information on the Brazil Butt Lift:

Leandro combines Brazilian dance, cardio, and signature lower-body sculpting moves to help you go from droopy to dreamy and from saggy to sexy so you look divine from behind!

Why is Brazil Butt Lift so effective?

The secret is Leandro's proven TriAngle Training method, which works all three major muscles of the buttocks from multiple angles to:

* REDUCE your hips and thighs, and melt away those stubborn saddlebags
* SHAPE your gluteal muscles to get you a perfectly round derriere
* LIFT your butt so it looks great from every angle

Why Should You Wear Perfume?

Here is a great article on the benefits of wearing perfume. There is scientific evidence that shows how effectively fragrance can change our mood, and increase our attractiveness:

The Benefits Of Wearing Perfume

By Roberto Sedycias

Perfume has been used throughout history for a variety of reasons. Perfume has proved itself to be a valuable commodity in both ancient and modern times, with the modern perfume industry turnover in its billions every year. Perfume is a luxury, rather than a necessity, and yet its popularity grows rather than wavers every year. The reason behind this is the enjoyment that the wearer gains, and this type of enjoyment stems from the recognised and unnoticed benefits that wearing perfume provides.

Firstly, the effect of perfume on our brains is not necessarily recognised though the effects are certainly enjoyed. Each scent, whether natural or synthetic, emits molecules which enter the nasal passages and eventually reach the olfactory epithelium. This part of the nose has a vast amount of receptor neurons which are each covered in hairs called cilia. These cilia trap the scent and send a message to the brain which enables a person to recognise the perfume. The ability to smell immediately has a positive impact. This is important as some research has shown that people without a sense of smell have a less happy life than those who can smell; scents trigger emotions and affect our mood.

As a result of this finding, perfume has become as much a science as it has an accessory. Aromatherapy studies the effects of natural botanical perfume ingredients, usually in the form of oils in their purest state. Its looks at the effects upon mood and general well being, and applies the knowledge by improving the perfume in the environment and offering a variety of aromatherapy services aimed at improving people`s lives. Aromacology applies this same approach to any available scent, from flowers to sand, and the findings are currently assisting perfume manufacturers worldwide.

The ingredients used in perfume may improve your concentration and enhance your mood. There is a long list of scents that are said to trigger this stimulating effect. Perfumes that contain ingredients such as ginger, sandalwood and rose are claimed by aromatherapists and aromacologists alike to have a stimulating effect on brain neurons. The increased stimulation aided by the use of perfume assists in many everyday tasks, from more focused studying to extra stamina and energy, balanced weight loss to an improved immune system.

Another benefit to be gained from wearing perfume is that it can relax your mood. Certain scents have aldehydes which have a calming effect on the brain. The perfume oils which have this effect include eucalyptus and citronella. Other scents can act as a form of sedative, aiding restful sleep, which helps reduce anxiety and tension which in turn creates a wealth of health benefits. The most famous of these perfumes include lavender and bergamot, which have been used for this purpose for centuries and in a variety of countries worldwide.

The benefits of perfume are not just highlighted by scientific study. Many psychologists state that humans begin to store information about scents when only a few months old, and that scents affect reactions to people and events more than any of the other senses at this young age. In fact, our taste in smells remains more or less the same whereas tastes influenced by other senses are extremely changeable. This means that we choose perfumes for a reason, either it triggers a feeling of nostalgia or makes us feel a certain way. The perfume chosen also has a social relevance; it tells people something about the wearer, and helps cement their identity. Attraction to another person is influenced by invisible scents known as pheromones, and perfume adds to this. Above all, perfume makes the wearer feel fresh, attractive and more confident; and confidence is a definite benefit.

Making Your Own Perfume

One of my favorite things in the world is perfume. Another thing that I've always enjoyed doing is designing my own body creams, face creams and hair products. I make oil blends, creams and washes. One thing that I never thought of trying was making my own perfume. I made fragrance body oils of course, but perfumes seemed complicated. But what I found out is that they are really simple to make, and fun as well. Here's a free copy of a basic process to make perfume, and a few recipes you can try out:

There are 3 main ingredients which you will need, and these are:-

1. Essential Oils
2. Water
3. Alcohol

Many of these items can be either obtained from a store that specializes in such ingredients, or over the internet.

You will also need a large saucepan, large bowl (for mixing all the ingredients together), spoon and some measuring cups or jugs to make perfume at home.

Provided below, are a few easy recipes that you should be able to produce at home without too much hassle.

1. Basic Recipe
All you need for this recipe is some water, chopped flower blossoms (use lilac or lavender if blossoms unavailable).

Place the flower blossoms in a bowl, add the water and then cover them and leave them overnight. The next day, the solution can be put into small bottles and sprayed either into the air or on to your skin.

2. Amaze
For this, you will need some distilled water, vodka, hypericum perforatum, cypress and rosemary (all of which are essential oils). They should then be mixed together and stored overnight.

After a period of 12 hours or more, the solution produced can be put into a dark spray bottle to be used. Using a dark colored bottle will help the solution to remain fresh, which will be felt by the person using it when they apply it to their skin.

3. Whispering Rain
This is another recipe that may be worth trying out. Again, you will need distilled water, some vodka, Sandalwood, Bergamot and Cassis essential oils (which can also be purchased as fragrance oils).

These ingredients should be stirred together and then stored overnight in a covered container. Then, the next day, it can be transferred to a dark colored bottle. This perfume must be kept in a cool place so that it does not dry up.

The three perfumes above normally last for about a month before they lose their scent and the next recipe should produce something a bit better.

For this recipe, you will need fragrance oils such as Sandalwood, Cedar Wood, Bergamot, Vodka and a little touch of Vanilla. All these ingredients should be put into a jar and then shaken. It should then be put in a cool place and left for a week. After this time, you can then transfer the mixture into small perfume bottles.

If you would like to learn more about recipes for making your own perfume, you could always do a search of the internet. I also recommend visiting your local bookstore, where they will have books on the subject.

It is important to remember that these types of perfume recipes only have a shelf life of a month, therefore you will need to make new batches every few weeks.
