Yes I said I'm African American, and yes, I am considering going blonde. I know that to some people, this sounds crazy, but over the years I have seen this on some ladies, and I've always thought that it just looks so cute.
I understand that many people have political or social issues surrounding this type of hair color change, and my goal has never been to offend anyone. I have just always thought that blonde hair often looks nice on women of color, Spanish, African American, and many other nationalities if you choose the right shade for your skin tone.
Personally, I have always had lighter hair, browns and reds, and feel that lighter colors are just more flattering for me. One time I accidentally went blonde after many, many processes. My hair was also so short at the time, I had no idea how to style it. I wasn't interested in the blonde at the time, and didn't try to make the most of the look. But now that it's something that I'm trying to do, I went out seeking the least damaging method.
I found this video online, and honestly, if you are considering going blonde, you should watch it before you bleach. I think she gives great advice. I'll let you know how my results turn out of course. If the strand test doesn't work though, I will let you know too that I'm not going to go through with it.
